Welfare and Retiree Welfare Fund Plan Changes

Effective March 18, 2020, the following changes were made to Welfare and Retiree Welfare Plans to address health care services related to testing for the COVID-19 virus and telehealth services.

COVID-19 Testing

The Active and Retiree Plans will provide coverage for diagnostic tests to detect COVID-19 that are approved or authorized by the FDA, including the administration of such tests. The Plans will also provide coverage for services furnished during provider office visits (whether in person or via telehealth), urgent care visits, and emergency room visits that result in an order for, or the administration of, the test described above, but only to the extent such items or services relate to the furnishing or administration of the test or the evaluation of whether the person needs the test. These tests and services related to the tests will be covered without any cost sharing (meaning they are not subject to a deductible, copayment or co-insurance), regardless of whether they are provided by an in-network or out-of-network provider.

Telehealth Visits

Telehealth visits will be covered the same as physician office visits.

Cambios en el plan de fondo para el Bienestar y Retiro

Efectivo Marzo 18, 2020 los siguientes cambios fueron hechos al plan de Bienestar y Retiro para abordar los servicios de salud relacionados con la prueba del virus Covid-19 y los servicios de telesalud.

Pruebas de COVID-19

El plan Activo y de Retiro proporcionara cobertura para pruebas de diagnóstico para detectar COVID-19 aprobados o autorizadas por la FDA, incluyendo la administración de tal prueba. El plan también brindara cobertura para los servicios prestados durante las vistas al consultorio del proveedor (sea en persona o por telesalud) visitas de urgencia, o visita de sala de emergencia que resulten en la orden para o administración de la prueba descrita previamente, pero solo en la medida en que dichos artículos o servicios estén relacionados con el suministro o la administración de la prueba o la evaluación de si la persona necesita la prueba.

Estas pruebas y servicio relacionados con la prueba serán cubiertos sin ningún costo compartido (Lo que significa que no están sujetos a un copago, deducible o coseguro) ya sea si es previsto por un proveedor dentro del plan de red o fuera del plan de red.

Visitas de Telesalud

Visitas de telesalud serán cubiertas de la misma manera que visitas al consultorio médico.

Member Self-Service Portal

The Boards of Trustees are pleased to announce the launch of a Member Self-Service Portal to help you access important information about your health care benefits. You can access this portal from your computer or mobile device. Here are some exciting features of the Member Self-Service Portal.

Before you can use these services, you will need to go through a short registration process. First you must read and agree to the Terms of User. Next you will be asked to supply identifying information: SSN or Member ID, Last Name, Date of Birth and Home Zip Code. Once your entered information is validated, you are able to setup your user name and password. You must also provide three security questions and answers. Security questions are used in case you ever need to recover your password. The last piece of information you will need to provide is your email address. It will be used for all communications from the Fund Office. Once you complete all the required information, you will receive an email with a verification link that you will need to click to complete the registration process.
